08h00-08h30: Tour guide and driver pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or Hanoi Opera House. Morning Then depart for the trip::
- Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on an island east of West Lake (Tay Ho district), considered the oldest pagoda in Thang Long – Hanoi, built about 1500 years ago. Since a millennium ago, this place has become the Buddhist center of Thang Long.
- Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex (Mausoleum and Stilt House) – Where the great leader lived and worked until the last years of his life. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about Uncle Ho’s simple life. On the way to the garden, you will stop by the One Pillar Pagoda to admire one of the Four Great Symbols of Hanoi.
Note: for departures on Mondays and Fridays, the Mausoleum Management Board will be maintaining the Mausoleum, you cannot enter the Mausoleum.
- Vietnam Museum of Ethnology: This is the newest but perhaps the largest and certainly the most interesting museum in Hanoi and Vietnam. You have the opportunity to learn about the culture and customs of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, especially those in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
On Mondays, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed, replaced by the Vietnamese Women’s Museum.
Noon: Return to the Old Quarter for lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, you will be able to see the 36 streets from the bus and listen to the tour guide tell stories about the streets of the ancient urban market.
Afternoon: Continue to visit:
- The temple of literature (The first university in Vietnam): recognized by UNESCO as a documentary heritage and listed in the “Global Memory” list.
- Hoa Lo prison: Built in 1899. The French mainly detained political prisoners here, then Vietnamese used it to detain American pilots who were shot down and captured as prisoners of war.
16h00: End of the tour of Hanoi city, the car will take you back to the hotel or depending on the needs of the tourists, the car can take you to a place near Hoan Kiem Lake. Here, you can visit the lake, walk along Hanoi’s Old Quarter or rent a tricycle to explore the Old Quarter or buy tickets to watch a water puppet show.
