Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport – Hanoi, the car and tour guide will hold up a welcome sign with your name on it and take you straight to your hotel in the Old Quarter.

• After checking in, you will have time to relax and adapt to the pace of life in Hanoi. The tour guide will introduce you to your tour schedule, then go enjoy the cuisine at KOTO restaurant in Hanoi.

Morning: Start your tour at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site, the ‘Great Father’ of the country, you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the embalmed body of President Ho Chi Minh is kept and his Stilt House to observe how he lived and what his life was like, visit the miniature One Pillar Pagoda from the 11th century, a Buddhist temple of historical and cultural significance.

• From the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site, you will take a leisurely walk through the small alleys towards Huu Tiep Lake. Visit the grounds of a 400-year-old temple, then stroll through the traditional local market streets to see the B52 crash site at the lake. This US bomber was shot down during the 1972 bombing of Hanoi, a poignant reminder of Vietnam’s recent history.
• Drive to the outskirts of Hanoi to visit the Museum of Ethnology, which displays artifacts from Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

Lunch: Pho, at a delicious noodle shop.

Afternoon: Visit the Temple of Literature, which is both a university and a Confucian temple. Next is Hoa Lo (also known as the Hanoi Hilton), a prison used by the French colonialists in Vietnam to hold political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam to hold American prisoners of war.

• Hop on a cyclo (three-wheeled bicycle) to visit French-style villages, past French-style villas, the Vietnam History Museum, the heritage Metropole Legend Hotel and the Opera House, etc.
• Enjoy egg coffee at Pho Co Café with a stunning view of Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the surrounding areas.
• End the day with a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter (as opposed to the French Quarter) to explore the street food in Hanoi. Your guide will introduce you to the different ingredients and herbs of each dish, Try delicious dishes such as Nom Du Du (green papaya salad), Banh Mi Pho Te (a sandwich that reflects Vietnam’s culinary heritage) and Hanoi’s famous Bun Cha (grilled pork and noodles).

Morning: Private guide and driver out of the city to Ngoc Thuy Market – a vibrant local market. Here, you will have a cooking lesson with a professional chef, you will learn how to prepare local dishes.

• Then you will visit Ly Thuong Kiet Hero Temple, a local pagoda and a local herb garden, where your private chef will give a short talk about Hanoi cuisine, vegetables, herbs & spices as well as how to prepare & use them.
• Continue to the cooking school, where you will go into the kitchen and start cooking 4 main dishes of a traditional meal. The practical lesson includes learning cooking, cutting techniques and how to use Vietnamese vegetable peelers & knives. You will be carefully guided step by step by the professional chef to create your own Masterpiece.

Afternoon: After the cooking lesson, you will enjoy with the chef the dishes you have just prepared. Say goodbye to the chef and return to the hotel, you are free to visit the sights, or explore Hanoi Old Quarter and try many famous dishes on the lake such as: Pho Cuon (fresh spring rolls) and Nom (mixed salad).

Morning: After breakfast, check out, your guide will pick you up and take you on a sightseeing tour through the Red River Delta to the legendary Ha Long Bay, where you will experience a traditional Vietnamese Sailing Boat, where you will spend the evening.

• Upon arrival, you will board the boat to begin your journey around the thousands of islets and limestone caves of the bay.

Afternoon: After lunch on board, you will spend time sunbathing on the deck and enjoying the peaceful tranquility of the bay.

• Visit the Cave of Surprises “Grotte des Surprises”, a hidden gem of Mother Nature. The boat gently drifts through the beautiful limestone formations containing thousands of stalactites and stalagmites.
• Cruising through the islands, you will encounter deserted bays, white sand beaches and floating villages, enjoying activities on board and around the beautiful scenery of the Bay.
• At the end of the day, you will sail to the overnight anchorage area. During this time – the magical “blue hour” – Halong Bay reveals its true magnificence. You have the opportunity to attend a cooking demonstration by the chef or watch the breathtaking sunset on the deck before dinner. Then you are free to explore, watch a movie or join the crew in squid fishing before retiring to your room to rest.

• Arrive in Mai Chau around noon and you check in at the charming Mai Chau Ecolodge. Located in the Mai Chau valley surrounded by mountains and rice fields, Mai Chau ecolodge is a peaceful oasis.

Afternoon: Tour guide will take you on foot (or bike if you want) to Pom Coong and Lac villages. With stilt houses and peaceful scenery, Lac and Pom Coong villages are ancient and peaceful Thai ethnic villages where you experience the life of the people here.

• Visit Mo Luong cave and Chieu cave with many stalactites and stalagmites thousands of years old, beautiful works of art by mother nature. Filled with shapes, sizes and colors, the caves will make you feel like you are lost in the ancient world of primitive creations.
• Visit the Thai Ethnology Museum. More than 1,000 artifacts are displayed, closely related to the daily life of the Thai people. You will see hunting tools, ceremonial costumes, bowls, plates, ancient coins, musical instruments, hundreds of years old books… exuding Thai culture.

• After dinner, you will return to Mai Chau Lodge to watch a traditional dance performance by the White Thai people.

Morning: Your local guide takes you on a bike ride through the local valleys. Your first 6 miles will wind through the villages of Chieng Chau and Van Mai, passing through the villages of the ethnic minorities, and learning about their culture.

• Continue another 6 miles to the Thai village of Cun Pheo on a mix of single-track and rugged jeep trails. The scenery is stunning as you ride through villages and lush rice paddies, lined with palm trees used by the highlanders for roofing, passing hot springs, cycling over suspension bridges and following the contours of beautiful terraced rice fields.
• Around noon, you will arrive at Ban Buoc, a picturesque village of the White Thai minority, and stroll around this peaceful village. Finally, you will visit a local family where you will be treated to a delicious home-cooked lunch.

Afternoon: Say goodbye to your host family, pick up your bikes and cycle back along the scenic route to Mai Chau, where you will spend your second night at the beautiful Mai Chau Ecolodge.

Morning: From Mai Chau, you will cross the mountainous forest roads and arrive at the ancient capital of Ninh Binh. Only three hours from Mai Chau, Ninh Binh with its majestic limestone mountains

• Arrive in Ninh Binh around noon and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon: Take a traditional bamboo boat tour of the mountainous landscape to Van Long Nature Reserve, where many scenes in the movie Kong: Skull Island took place. Gliding through the poetic landscapes and rolling hills, you will capture beautiful scenes.

• Visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam dating back to the 11th century, with breathtaking scenery creating a mystical atmosphere that is sure to stimulate your imagination. Once there, immerse yourself in history at the two remaining temples of King Dinh and King Le. Renovated in the 17th century, it is believed that the temples were built on the original foundations of the old palaces from the 11th and 12th centuries.
• Experience cycling through the towering limestone mountains above you as you travel along the small roads and stunning views. At Hang Mua Mountain, take a scenic walk along the Ngo Dong River below cutting through the towering mountains.
• Transfer to Tam Coc Garden Resort for an overnight stay, surrounded by stunning rice fields and limestone formations, Tam Coc Resort is an oasis that will take you away from the hustle and bustle of city life amidst the most stunning landscapes.

Morning: After breakfast, the car will take you from Ninh Binh 3 hours to Xuan Thuy National Park Nam Dinh, 150 km southwest of Hanoi in the coastal region of the Red River Delta. On the way, you will visit the ancient Co Le Pagoda dating back to the 10th century.

• Visit Vi Khe Village, you will admire the rows of green trees such as phoenix, dragon, horse, unicorn … or the symbol of the Temple of Literature.
• Arrive at Xuan Thuy National Park, formerly known as the Regional Nature Reserve and later became the first Ramsar site in Vietnam, to preserve wetlands. Xuan Thuy National Park is located in the Red River Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO. This is a coastal wetland with rich biodiversity, home to about 220 species of birds, 110 species of aquatic plants and 500 other species of aquatic organisms.
• At around noon, you will arrive at Xuan Giao Commune near the National Park. Here, you will board a boat to explore the wetlands. Then go to the Clam House, you will enjoy a delicious seafood lunch. Rest and relax in the Clam House before getting on the bus back to the mainland.

Afternoon: You will start a relaxing tour around Giao Xuan Commune and through the villages. Walk along the inter-village road to see the lives of local people and watch them harvest the season or visit the old houses, Catholic churches and the Agricultural Museum. If it is sunny, you can visit the salt fields to see the locals making salt. You can try making salt.

• Go to the bird station (applicable for winter from November to March) to see many species of birds flying from East Asia to Australia such as: Black-faced Spoonbill, Spoonbill, Spotted Green-billed Swallow, Saunders Gull and Asian Yellow-billed Swallow…

Evening: You will arrive at the house of the people in Xuan Giao Commune, and you will enjoy dinner and stay overnight here.

Overnight in Xuan Giao Nam Dinh

Morning: Take a relaxing bike ride (or car) around the commune, watch the beautiful sunrise over the sea and then visit the local Fish Market, where you can watch fishermen bring in their overnight catch. Hundreds of people from surrounding villages flock to this wholesale market to buy the best of the day.

• On the way, you will stop to visit a local fish sauce family, where you can see the traditional method of making this delicious sauce.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Nam Dinh station to catch the train to Dong Hoi Quang Binh. The train journey lasts 8 hours and you will have a nice and comfortable air-conditioned four-berth soft sleeper compartment.

Evening: Arrive in Dong Hoi, your guide and driver will pick you up at the boat exit and take you to Chay Lap Resort and Farm, where you will spend the night, the resort is located among limestone mountains, away from the tourist trails, Chay Lap is a true gem of Phong Nha & Ke Bang National Park.

Morning: After breakfast, you will be taken to explore Phong Nha Cave, the longest limestone cave in the world, which was once used as a hospital and ammunition depot during the Vietnam War. You will enter the cave by boat along the Son River and once inside, you will be amazed by the fine sand beaches, spectacular milky white stalagmites and stalactites of the cave.

• Visit the historic Tam Co Cave with its fascinating war history.

Afternoon: After lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit Thien Duong Cave. Discovered in 2005 by scientists from the British Cave Research Association, Thien Duong Cave is a magical complex of skyscraper-high stalagmites and stalactites suspended like the pipes of a giant church organ, with the majesty of a church, with wooden steps and walkways leading across the uneven floor.

• Return to the Farmstay in the late afternoon, you are free to explore the scenery, or you have the option to cycle around the local villages.

Afternoon: Your guide and driver will pick you up at the Farmstay and take you to Dong Hoi Train Station to catch the daytime train (soft seat with air conditioning) to Hue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former capital of the Vietnamese Empire from 1802 to 1945.

Evening: Your guide and driver will pick you up at the train station and take you to the hotel to check in. You are free to relax. Your guide will recommend a good restaurant near the hotel for your dinner.

• From the lake, head to the ancient and atmospheric walled Citadel, home to the former Royal Palace and the Forbidden City.
• The Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities houses a stunning collection of royal antiques.
• The impressive tomb of Emperor Tu Duc and Vietnam’s only Roman Colosseum.
• Visit the local Buddhist temple, where you will be treated to a delicious vegetarian lunch cooked and served by nuns. Learn about Buddhism or just get to know your friendly hosts.

Afternoon: Take a dragon boat ride on the poetic Perfume River, and you will stop to visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda – Hue’s most famous religious site. Explore the pagoda’s landscaped gardens, seven-story octagonal tower and watch monks chanting sutras.

• Visit Truc Chi Garden, a bamboo paper handicraft workshop. You will have the opportunity to meet practitioners and have a hands-on experience to learn how to use bamboo pulp carving techniques to create works of art.
  Return to the hotel in the late afternoon, where you are free to relax for the rest of the day.

• Continue driving to Hoi An around noon. Check in at your boutique resort, just a short distance from the old town.

• Precious Heritage Museum, where the Precious Heritage Collection of Réhahn is permanently displayed.
• Visit Reaching Out Tea House, a small oasis of welcome peace in the bustling Old Town, owned and operated by deaf and mute people. Here, you will be treated to delicious cakes and wonderful oriental tea.
• Visit a lantern artisan’s house, where you can observe the lantern-making techniques of the craftsmen before practicing each stage of making lanterns under the guidance of the craftsmen: from bending the lantern into the frame, cutting the fabric, gluing, to finishing the lantern. Before the end of the tour, you will have a lantern made by your own hands.
• Discover Hoi An street food. Together with your guide, you will weave through the small alleys, enjoying dishes with the locals at the stalls. Morning: After an early breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to My Son Sanctuary, about an hour inland from Hoi An. The remains of the Cham culture. In 1999, UNESCO recognized My Son as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

• You will take a two-hour walking tour around this historic complex. Learn about the construction techniques, traditional materials used, such as: Wood, brick and stone. You will also find many bomb craters left here by American bombs from the war in the 1960s and 1970s.
• After exploring the ruins, you will watch a traditional Apsara Dance next to the historic temples. The girls will perform the dance to the sound of pans and drums, wearing colorful traditional costumes and conical hats.
• Return to the hotel in Hoi An. Stop on the way to visit a rice paper workshop to test your cooking skills and learn how to make a delicious local snack. Afterwards, enjoy your creations with a cup of Vietnamese coffee and a friendly chat with your host about the rural lifestyle here.

Afternoon: You are free to explore, explore the local market and try street food (try Lao Cau and White Rose Dumplings), sew something for 24 hours, join a hands-on cooking class.

• Upon arrival, the tour guide and driver will pick you up and take you straight to the hotel in the city center to check in.

Afternoon: Explore Buon Ma Thuot, the coffee capital of Vietnam, visit Trung Nguyen coffee village, a beautiful garden with fountains, architects… Here, you can learn about Vietnamese coffee culture, coffee trees, coffee processing industry.

• Visit the Museum of Ethnology. The exhibitions here will give you an insight into the life and culture of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands, Vietnam.
• Visit Kien Cuong Civet Coffee Garden. You will meet the owner Kien Cuong “coffee king”, who will tell you how he grows and processes the famous civet coffee (the most expensive coffee in the world).
• Visit AkoDhong village, home to the Ede ethnic minority who live in long stilt houses, stop at the village chief’s house (Ama H’Rin’s house) and learn about the Ede and their matriarchy.

Return to Buon Ma Thuot in the late afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

After an early breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Yok Don National Park to join the Elephant Conservation Project team.

• Upon arrival, after a briefing, you will meet the elephant keepers and enjoy a full day of exploring the forest in search of three elephants that are currently roaming freely in the national park. Your guide will tell you about each elephant’s personality, their background and why they live in Yok Don National Park.
• Your guide will share with you the flora and fauna that inhabit this forest and show you plants that are used in traditional medicine by some local ethnic minorities.
• You may come across signs of rare wild elephants in the park, such as footprints, feeding signs or their droppings.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of the park.

Afternoon: You will continue hiking until you reach the elephants’ home deep in the forest. You will have the opportunity to meet the elephants and participate in bathing them (30 minutes) and feeding them bananas and sugar cane. Because it is a conservation area, you are not allowed to ride the elephants.

• End of a wonderful day and return to Buon Ma Thuot.

After breakfast and check out your private guide and driver will take visit the famous waterfalls of D’ray Nur and Dray Sap. Fed by the Srepock River, a major tributary of the Mekong River that flows from the Central Highlands into northeastern Cambodia, Dray Nur and Dray Sap waterfalls are definitely the must-sees.

• Upon arrival, take a short walk through some lush forest and around the base of the waterfall. If you’re really feeling adventurous you can walk under a small portion of the waterfall and rinse off.
• Depart Buon Ba Thuat you will be driven to Lak Lake. Vast, tranquil and fringed by rolling hills, Lak Lake is the Central Highland’s largest natural freshwater lake. Take a boat trip on the lake and visit a local village, home to the Mnong people, a tribe that relies on the lake for their livelihood and they can be seen fishing in traditional dugout canoes.
• After the boat trip, pay a visit to Bao Dai Villa where the last King of Vietnam used to live. Perched on top of a hill, the building was one of the emperor’s many, many holiday homes in the Central Highlands, a region he frequented to indulge in one of his favourite pastimes, hunting.
• Continue your road journey south passing through spectacular mountain scenery, to the former French colonial hill station of Dalat. The high altitude, cool climate and natural beauty are what first drew the French colonialists here in the first half of the 20th century. It flourished as an alpine/lakeside summer holiday town, garnering it yet a nickname, “Le Petit Paris” or little Paris.

Arrive Da Lat in the late afternoon and check into your resort. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure.

• Visit Truc Lam Zen Monastery (the largest Zen school in Vietnam today) surrounded by pine forests. You can take the cable car down 300 meters to visit Tuyen Lam Lake which looks like a paradise.
• Visit Hang Nga Crazy House (also known as Hang Nga Guesthouse), in contrast to the French colonial villas of Da Lat, the pioneering guesthouse is a maze of spiral staircases, sculpted bedrooms, wavy surfaces, swirls of bright colors, narrow bridges and hidden nooks.

Afternoon: After lunch at a local restaurant, you visit Xuan Huong Lake and Lam Ty Ni Pagoda, where the Buddhist folk monk Vien Thuc created abstract paintings and wrote poetry.

• Visit the XQ embroidery workshop and art gallery, where you can learn about the history of Vietnamese art and enjoy many handmade embroidery masterpieces.
• Visit the famous central market with fresh flowers, vegetables and rare fruits. Walk through the small alleys and join the locals to taste one of the many street foods such as: Grilled pork, grilled vegetables and especially Dalat pizza, a round rice paper, covered with egg coating and grilled over charcoal.

Afternoon: You will disembark and walk around the local villages and learn about the lifestyle of the villagers, such as how they grow rice, fruit and vegetables. You will stop to visit and experience the life of the people along the river.

• Return to the boat, relax on the deck and watch the sunset. Enjoy dinner on board as the boat cruises along the Mang Thit River towards its anchorage for the night.

Overnight on the Bassac Boat

Morning: After breakfast on the boat, travel to Cai Be.

• Bassac crosses the Co Chien River and drifts into Cho Lach Canal, amidst the bustling traffic, markets and churches, giving you a unique experience of seeing the diverse life on the shore as well as on the water.
• Arriving near Cai Be, check out and transfer to a rowing boat to visit a small canal if the tide permits.
• Meet a local boat, which will take you to the shore to visit the local handicraft industry of Cai Be.
• The tour will end in Cai Be town, your guide and car will take you straight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Afternoon: Arrive and check in to your hotel in the city center. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free to visit the Night Market and enjoy delicious local dishes.

Morning: After breakfast, the tour guide and car will pick you up at the hotel to start the first tour to the Reunification Palace. Then, go to the War Remnants Museum, you will learn about the historical site, with many documents of the war, you can also see the collection of bombs, tanks, planes and helicopters displayed in the outdoor area.

• Visit Paris Square, a small square located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City in District 1, located between Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral and Nguyen Du Street. Visit the Central Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral and the absolute beauty of the church …

Lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch with Banh Xeo, Bo La Lot and Nem Cuon.

Afternoon: After lunch, you will visit the Fito Museum. Then, you will go to an old apartment where the last US helicopter left Vietnam in 1975, signaling the end of the War. You will pass by the former US Embassy and Villa 60 Vo Van Tan, which was the residence of General William Westmoreland, commander of all US forces in Vietnam.

• Visit the famous Jade Emperor Pagoda built by the first Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh City over 100 years ago. The pagoda is also known as Turtle Pagoda and is one of the five most important pagodas in the city.
• Visit the top of Bitexco Tower, the tallest building in Vietnam to watch the sunset and get the best panoramic view of the city.

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to Cu Chi, a small community northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, famous for its network of deep tunnels that served as a hideout and an effective infiltration source for the Viet Cong during the final years of the Vietnam War.

• Upon arrival, you will watch old documentary footage, tour the secret Viet Cong tunnel network that stretched for “hundreds of miles”, total length, with living quarters, storage rooms, makeshift hospitals and kitchens… Although initially very narrow, some sections have been opened to tourists and you have the opportunity to explore some parts of the system.
• Try some of the wartime staples, with cassava served with sour tea.
• Leaving Cu Chi, you will go to Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh Province, explore the sacred temple and learn more about the Cao Dai religion, you will attend the noon mass, admire the monks in traditional costumes and listen to the enchanting hymns.

Afternoon: After lunch at a local restaurant, you will return to the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Free to relax the rest of the day.
