Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Hello! Welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam.

  • Arrive at Hanoi Airport, your tour guide and driver will pick you up and take you straight to your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
  • After checking in, you are free to relax while your tour guide will introduce the tour itinerary, then enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Hanoi – Full day City Tour & Local food discovery

Morning: You will visit the Ho Chi Minh Memorial. Here, you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where the embalmed body of President Ho Chi Minh is kept, and the stilt house, a miniature One Pillar Pagoda from the 11th century, a Buddhist temple of historical and cultural significance.

  • Then you will walk through the small alleys towards Huu Tiep Lake. Explore the grounds of a 400-year-old temple, stroll through the traditional local market streets to see the B52 crash site at the lake. This US bomber was shot down during the bombing of Hanoi in 1972, learn about the historical site.
  • Drive you to the outskirts of Hanoi to visit the Museum of Ethnology, which is both a research center and a public museum displaying the 54 recognized ethnic groups of Vietnam. Lunch: You will have lunch at a Vietnamese noodle shop, the tour guide will explain the Vietnamese mealtime habits and also tell you the ingredients to make a delicious bowl of noodles.

Afternoon: After lunch, you will visit the Temple of Literature, which is thousands of years old and is both a university and a Confucian temple. Next is Hoa Lo (also known as the Hanoi Hilton), a prison used by the French colonialists in Vietnam to detain political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam to detain American prisoners of war.

  • Take a cyclo (three-wheeled bicycle) ride through the French colonial architecture of the area known as the French Quarter, past French-style villas, the Museum of Vietnamese History, the heritage Metropole Legend Hotel and the Opera House, …
  • Enjoy egg coffee at Pho Co Café and take in the views of Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple
  • Take a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter (as opposed to the French Quarter) to explore the street food scene in Hanoi, where you can enjoy street food such as Nom Du Du (green papaya salad), Banh Mi Pho Te (a sandwich that reflects Vietnam’s culinary heritage) and Hanoi’s famous Bun Cha (grilled pork and noodles).

Day 3: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Lan Ha Bay

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the port city of Hai Phong, arriving around noon, where you board a boat to begin your journey around Lan Ha Bay. Located south and east of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha’s approximately 300 karst islands and limestone outcrops are as beautiful as Ha Long Bay.

  • After checking in, you will enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch while taking in the views.
  • Relax on the deck or private balcony and soak up the captivating atmosphere emanating from the surreal seascape.

Afternoon: The Junk takes you past the Con Vit and Gia Luan islands, their karst (limestone formations) rising dramatically from the bay.

  • In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the shore of a small lagoon on Cat Ba Island, cycling (electric cars are also available) along the village roads to Viet Hai village, located in a valley within Cat Ba National Park and surrounded by forests and mountains on all sides. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet local residents, learn about the fruits and vegetables grown in the valley, catch a glimpse of local households and try some homemade wine.
  • Return to the Junk boat to watch the chef’s cooking demonstration. Learn about local ingredients and how to prepare classic Vietnamese dishes.

Evening: you will arrive at a quiet anchorage for the night, you can soak up the memories of the day’s adventures with a cocktail under the stars.

  • After a sumptuous dinner, you can relax at the bar with a digestif, watch a movie in the cinema or have fun squid fishing before retiring to your room.

Overnight on board in Lan Ha Bay

Day 4: Lan Ha Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Da Nang

Morning: You wake up early to join a Tai Chi session on the deck to relax and watch the sunrise and enjoy Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries waiting for you in the dining room to start your day.

  • The Junk weighs anchor and heads towards Frog Lake, a quiet place where you can experience kayaking and admire the scenery.
  • Then return to the Junk to check out, enjoy a full breakfast buffet as you sail back to the pier.

Afternoon: Get off the boat at Got Pier in Hai Phong City, the driver is waiting for you and takes you back to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi for a short flight to Da Nang.

  • Upon arrival, you will be picked up by your private tour guide and taken by private car to the beach resort, enjoy the romantic beach view from Monkey Mountain to the heritage town of Hoi An with Marble Mountains coconut trees and pristine coral reefs.

Day 5: Da Nang – Hoi An Walking and Food Tour

Morning: You are free to relax all morning, or you can join a Yoga class at the resort or go to the resort’s spa.

Afternoon: Your tour guide and driver will pick you up from the resort and take you to Hoi An Ancient Town, where you will visit and enjoy the cuisine, visit the old fishing village located on the banks of the Thu Bon River and is a strategic trading port of Southeast Asia.

  • Upon arrival, you will walk to visit famous landmarks such as Ong Pagoda, Tan Ky Ancient House, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall and Japanese Bridge.
  • Visit the Heritage Museum, which is a permanent exhibition of Réhahn’s precious Heritage Collection, with paintings of ethnic minorities.
  • Visit the Reaching Out Teahouse, a small oasis of peace, owned and operated by deaf and mute people. Here, you will be treated to delicious cakes and wonderful tea in the oriental style.
  • Visiting a lantern artisan’s house, you can observe the lantern artisan’s techniques and make lanterns together from bending the lantern into the frame, cutting the fabric, gluing until finishing the lantern. Before the end of this trip, you will have a lantern created by your own hands.
  • Explore Hoi An street food with a tour guide who will take you to the small streets to enjoy dishes with the locals. Hoi An at around 4 pm every day, the streets are filled with countless street food carts, stalls and street vendors.

Day 6: Da Nang – Day at leisure

Today is at your leisure to enjoy the comforts of the resort and its private beach. You might opt to get a tailor-made suit fitted or join a hands-on cooking class.

Day 7: Da Nang – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at the airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

  • Your guide and driver will pick you up at the waiting room and take you to Cu Chi, located northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, with its deep tunnels and historic sites.
  • Upon arrival, you will see original film footage from that period, then walk through the reserve. Visit the tunnels and listen to a commentary on the tunnels, which contained living quarters, storage rooms, makeshift hospitals and kitchens.
  • Try some of the Viet Cong soldiers’ staple food, cassava served with sour tea. Afterwards, you will transfer to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Afternoon: Visit some of the main highlights of Ho Chi Minh City such as: Notre Dame Cathedral, the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville), the old Opera House, the historic Rex Hotel, the Central Post Office, famous for its architecture and Ben Thanh Market, which sells a wide range of goods and handicrafts.

  • Visit the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum for an insight into Vietnam’s military history and turbulent past.
  • Visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda before ending the day in style with a sunset glass atop Bitexco Tower, the tallest building in Vietnam.

Day 8: HCM City – Ben Tre (Mekong Delta)

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you to Ben Tre Town in the Mekong Delta, famous for its vast rice fields and stunning scenery.

  • After a two-hour drive through lush farmland, you will arrive in Ben Tre, where you will board a motorboat and cruise through narrow, winding canals through coconut groves. During the boat trip, you will stop at local handicraft industries to see locals making bricks and weaving sleeping mats by hand. Learn about the crafts that have been passed down through generations.
  • Stroll along the village streets, visit local houses to sample fresh fruit, enjoy delicious honey tea while enjoying traditional musical instruments. Continue to visit a local coconut candy factory and many products made from coconut husks and coconut fibers that are skillfully crafted.
  • Take a small sampan through the palm-lined canals, gliding gently along the hidden waterways surrounded by a myriad of tropical plants. The tranquil setting is a relaxing getaway.
  • Enjoy riding a rickshaw through villages, rice paddies, coconut groves and lush fruit orchards while meeting the locals.

Afternoon: After the tour, your guide will take you to a riverside restaurant for lunch featuring local specialties, then return to the pier and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

  • In the evening, you are free to explore the night market to discover local cuisine, or enjoy a cocktail at the rooftop bar of the historic Rex Hotel.

Day 9: HCM City – Flight to Phu Quoc Island

After breakfast, the car will take you to the airport to catch a flight to Phu Quoc Island.

Day 12: Phu Quoc Island – HCM City – Departure
