Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City

Hello! Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

  • Upon arrival in Vietnam, your tour guide and driver will be waiting for you at the arrival lounge, holding a welcome sign with your name on it and taking you straight to your hotel in the city center.
  • After checking in, you can relax and enjoy the view of Ho Chi Minh City, your tour guide will introduce you to Bloom restaurant for dinner.

Day 2: HCM City – Morning Tour

Get up early (avoid the crowds) and take a cyclo tour of Ho Chi Minh City with a guide and take you off the tourist trail.

  • Hop on a cyclo and tour through the quiet streets. Stop to see the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office (designed by Gustave Eiffel).
  • Tao Dan local park, a green space to relax and enjoy nature. Get off the cyclo and enjoy a coffee and take in the view.
  • From the park, you will come to the memorial site dedicated to Buddhist monk Thich Quang Duc. During the trip, your guide will take you to one of the best places in the city to eat Pho (Vietnamese Pho).
  • Swap the cyclo for a private car and travel along Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street to visit the traditional market, visit a secret weapons bunker used to hide the arsenal of the Saigon Commandos. Among them were about 2 tons of weapons, prepared for the Tet Offensive (January 1968).
  • End the tour with a walk around the Ho Thi Ky Flower Market, the city’s hidden gem. Then, return to the hotel to relax.

Day 3: HCM City – Vung Liem (Mekong Delta)

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you to the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, you will check into the bungalows at Co Co Riverside Lodge. Nestled on the banks of the Mekong River, surrounded by coconut forests and rice fields….

Afternoon: After lunch, you will take a leisurely bike ride on the quiet village roads passing coconut farms, green rice fields and small villages. Along the way, you will stop to visit a dragon fruit plantation and taste the fruit right in the garden.

  • Return to the lodge to watch the picturesque sunset of Asia. After a shower and rest, you will walk with the locals using traditional torches made from dried coconut leaves to the neighbor’s house, where you will enjoy a traditional music performance.
  • Return to the lodge and join the cooking class with the chef. Afterwards, enjoy what you have cooked together. Free to explore.

Overnight at Co Co Riverside Lodge in Vung Liem

Day 4: Vung Liem – HCM City – Flight to Dalat

Morning: After breakfast, you will visit a local school and a nearby market. Then, take a boat trip through small canals to visit a local industrial area specializing in coconut processing. After the coconuts are dehusked, the coir is separated from the shell to make rope, which is then used to weave mats.

  • Take a local ferry to visit a Cao Dai temple, visit the local religion.
  • Return to the Lodge. If time permits, try weaving with nipa palm leaves. Leaves are the main building material in the Mekong Delta and are used to build walls and roofs with the locals.

Afternoon: Check out and return to Ho Chi Minh City. Then, transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Da Lat, where the climate is mild and cool, Da Lat is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” due to the mist that covers the nearby valleys all year round.

  • Upon arrival, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to the hotel to check in.

Day 5: Dalat – Trekking and Kayaking

Morning: After breakfast, your guide will take you on a three-hour trek starting from Bao Dai Waterfall through a small village to the green pine forest, enjoying the cool breeze and admiring the hundreds of years old trees.

  • You will go to Samson Mountain to take beautiful photos, this is the most beautiful place to take photos in Da Lat. From the top of the mountain, you can admire the beautiful view of Da Lat from above.
  • After about 3 hours of exploring, you will arrive at Thien Duong Lake, where you will enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by your guide.

Afternoon: After lunch, you will kayak and paddle around the small islands on the lake. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the green pine forest surrounding the lake.

  • After about 2 hours of exploring, you will arrive on the other side of the lake, where the driver is waiting for you and takes you back to the hotel.
  • Arrive at the hotel around 15:00, where you will spend the rest of the afternoon and evening relaxing, strolling through the streets, or enjoying a cup of coffee while admiring the dreamy scenery of Da Lat, you can taste many street foods such as: Grilled pork, grilled vegetables and especially Da Lat pizza, a round rice paper, covered with egg coating and grilled over charcoal.

Day 6: Dalat – Lake Lake – Buon Triet Lake

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you on a four-hour drive from Da Lat to Lak Lake, passing villages, rice fields…

  • Upon arrival, you will take a dugout canoe across Lak Lake to M’Lieng village, meet the M’nong people, a tribe that depends on the lake for their livelihood and can see them fishing with traditional dugout canoes. You can walk around the village to learn more about daily life in the Central Highlands.

Afternoon: Leaving Lak Lake, you will go to Buon Triet Lake, upon arrival, you will row a boat and pass Buon Triet Lake.

  • Arrive at Jatu Village, home to the M’nong ethnic minority, visit small villages such as: M’nong Gar, M’nong Nong, M’nong Bih…. a small village with 14 households and about 60 people living together. They live by growing rice, raising cattle and gathering from the forest.
  • You stay overnight at the stilt house, which is also the village chief.

Day 7: Buon Triet Lake – Nam Ka

Morning: After breakfast, you will go hiking (about 14km) through the evergreen forest, including climbing and descending into the forest and crossing a stream, with birdsong.

Afternoon: After enjoying a picnic lunch on the way, you will continue hiking towards Nam Ka Lake, where you can board a boat and row for 4km.

  • In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the rural village of Rai in Nam Ka, home to the Ede ethnic minority with 15 households and about 75 residents in the village. The people here also mainly live on rice cultivation, raising cattle, pigs and other poultry.
  • You will stay overnight in Rai village as chief Ay Sel. This is a traditional Ede-style longhouse with a staircase decorated with a crescent moon symbolizing fidelity and a pair of breasts symbolizing prosperity and matriarchy.

Evening: Enjoy dinner hosted by a local family. Take time to learn about their lifestyle and customs.

Day 8: Nam Ka – Buon Ma Thuot

Morning: After breakfast and check out, say goodbye to your host family and walk three kilometers through the rural villages. Then, your driver will pick you up and take you to Buon Ma Thuot City, the coffee capital of Vietnam.

  • On the way, you will stop to visit two of the most impressive waterfalls in the Central Highlands: Dray Sap and Dray Nu.

Afternoon: Arrive and check in to your hotel in the city center. After a short break, you will sit outside to explore the city.

  • Visit Trung Nguyen Coffee Village, a beautiful garden with fountains, interesting architecture. Here, you can learn about Vietnamese coffee culture, coffee trees, coffee processing industry.
  • Visit the Museum of Ethnology. The exhibitions here will give you an insight into the life and culture of the people in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.
  • Kien Cuong weasel coffee garden. You will meet the owner, Mr. Kien Cuong, the “coffee king”, who will tell you how he grows and processes the famous civet coffee (the most expensive coffee in the world).

End of the tour and return to the hotel, you are free to relax.

Day 9: Buon Ma Thuot – Elephant experience full day

After an early breakfast, your guide and private driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Yok Don National Park to join the Elephant Conservation Project team.

  • After an introduction, you will meet the elephant caretakers and explore the forest in search of three elephants that are currently roaming freely in the national park. Your guide will tell you about each elephant’s personality, their background, and why they live in Yok Don National Park.
  • Throughout the trip, your guide will share their knowledge of the national park, pointing out the many species of plants and wildlife that live in this forest.
  • You may come across signs of the rare wild elephant community in the park, such as footprints, feeding signs, or their droppings.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of the park.

Afternoon: You will continue hiking until you reach the elephants’ home deep in the forest. You will have the opportunity to meet the elephants and participate in bathing them (30 minutes) and feeding them bananas and sugar cane. As the center focuses on conservation, they no longer allow elephant riding.

  • End your wonderful day and return to Buon Ma Thuot.

Day 10: Buon Ma Thuot – Pleiku – Kontum

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you to Kontum via Pleiku. Stop to visit Phun village, a small village of the Gia Rai ethnic group, most famous for its cemeteries decorated with wooden statues, and stop at coffee, rubber and pepper plantations along the way.

Afternoon: After a 5-hour drive, you will arrive in Kontum. Visit the town including: Museum, wooden church, orphanage and Kon K’Lor suspension bridge. Then, you will take a leisurely walk through the tea plantations and the villages of Kon Ko Lor Lor I and Kon Ko Lor II.

  • Boat on a wooden boat on the Dakbla River and travel to Kon Ko Tu village, home to the Bahnar ethnic minority, experiencing the culture here with the curved roofs shaped like high axes is quite a magnificent sight.

Evening: Enjoy dinner organized by the family and stay overnight at a local homestay, clean and comfortable.

Day 11: Kontum – Hoi An

Morning: After breakfast and check out, your guide and driver will take you to Hoi An for a seven-hour drive. Stop along the way to visit the Dakto Tan Canh Victory Monument and former war sites such as Charlie Hill & Phoenix Airport, also known as Dak To Base Camp and Dak To II Airport, now just a bare patch of asphalt where farmers dry cassava.

  • Continue driving on the road. Stop to visit Dak Che Waterfall and the Rong House of the Gie-Trieng ethnic group.

Lunch: Have lunch at a local restaurant in Kham Duc town

Afternoon: Arrive in Hoi An and check in at the beautiful Hoi An Eco-lodge. Hoi An Eco-lodge is a peaceful oasis.

Day 12: Hoi An – Cooking Class and Kayaking

Morning: After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to the local market. Here, the chef will guide you around the market, explain about local products, explain about the market culture, you buy ingredients to learn cooking with the chef, and enjoy the finished product right away.

  • Then, walk to the pier to board the Chic Boat, which runs by engine down the Thu Bon River. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river.
  • The boat will stop to put the kayak down the river and paddle leisurely (about 45 minutes). Explore and experience some hidden corners and natural beauty of Hoi An.
  • Get back on the boat. Enjoy drinks, then start the cooking class on the boat. The chef will guide you how to prepare and cook each dish before you do it yourself.
  • Under the guidance of the chef, discover the flavors blending with “Tâm Hự”, enjoy the excitement as you enjoy a piece of fatty, salty fried fish spring roll and feel the rich flavor of ginger braised chicken, helping you discover the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine.
  • Lunch will be served more with steamed rice, vegetable soup and a dessert.

Afternoon: you will spend time relaxing and enjoying everything the river has to offer on the journey back to Hoi An. Get off at the pier and return to your Ecolodge, free to relax at your own leisure.

Day 13: Hoi An – Day at leisure

The whole day is your free time. You can go to the Old Town to explore or you can cycle to the beach to swim and relax. Otherwise, enjoy the comfort of the Ecolodge.

Day 14: Hoi An – Da Nang – Flight to Hanoi

Morning: After breakfast, the driver will pick you up and take you to Da Nang airport for the flight to Hanoi.

  • The tour guide and driver will pick you up at Noi Bai airport, Hanoi and take you to the hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter to check in. After that, you are free to relax.

Afternoon: Enjoy your free time to stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter.

Evening: The tour guide will take you to the Lotus Theatre, where you will experience the Water Puppet Show, a unique traditional art performance of Vietnam. Admire the dexterity of the colorful puppets and the dexterity of real artists as they control the puppets behind a “water stage”.

Day 15: Hanoi – Experience Off the Beaten Path by Russian Minsk Motorcycle

You will experience Hanoi on the Minsk Russian motorbike trail that will take you to the Hanoi life museum, you will explore different neighborhoods of Hanoi, and visit the main, hidden gem local market of Hanoi, you enjoy delicious street food.

Note: If you do not like motorbikes, there is an alternative option for your family to take an open-air wartime Jeep.

Morning: After breakfast, the car and tour guide will pick you up at the hotel lobby at the scheduled time to go sightseeing by 1952 Russian-made 150cc motorbikes out of the city. While driving, you will be introduced to some beautiful scenery.

  • Visit the Black Market through small alleys. Meet and interact with friendly locals. Stop at a food court at the back of the market and try some street food.
  • You will arrive at a local house, where you will be introduced and hear stories about Hanoi.
  • Heading to the railway tracks, your guide will time it so that you can see a Reunification Express train passing by, and you can take in the view and capture the best moments.
  • Back in the City, you will be taken through the French colonial architecture of the area known as the French Quarter. You will pass by French-style villas, the Vietnam History Museum, the heritage Metropole Legend Hotel and the Opera House…
  • To Hanoi’s Old Quarter, explore the maze of small alleys and narrow streets. You will be amazed by the city’s mix of things. Stop at eateries and food stalls to enjoy the best of Hanoi including local delicacies and specialties.
  • Head out of the city towards Long Bien Bridge, a magnificent structure built by the French over a hundred years ago across the Red River.
  • From the bridge, you will arrive at Bai Giua, commonly known as Banana Island, a 24ha strip of land in the middle of the Red River, surrounded by rows of banana trees, clear water where you can enjoy the fresh air. Then you will return to the City. The last stop will be a hidden Coffee Shop to enjoy a cup of egg coffee and admire the scenery.
  • Around noon, your tour guide will take you back to the hotel. The tour ends.

Afternoon: Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Relax or stroll through the hidden alleys in the Old Quarter.

Day 16: Hanoi – Da Bac – Sung Village

Morning: After breakfast, your tour guide and driver will pick you up and take you to Da Bac Commune, Hoa Binh Province, 100km from Hanoi, where ethnic minorities live mainly. You will visit and experience life with the local people.

  • After a three-hour drive through the picturesque countryside, you will arrive at Sung Village, home to the Tien Dao ethnic group. There are about 75 households and about 350 residents in the village and they make a living by farming.
  • Check in at a local house. The house is beautifully designed with carved and painted beams inside the house and bedrooms. Clean sheets and fresh towels are standard, and the mattress and pillows are very comfortable. Each bed has a mosquito net and curtains that you can pull back for more privacy.

Afternoon: After enjoying lunch cooked and served by the host, you will take a leisurely walk around the village, enjoying Shan Tuyet tea. You can also visit a local handicraft workshop, watch the villagers weave and traditional dyeing techniques.

  • Take a short walk (about 2 km) to Sung Cave to visit a 100-year-old tea plantation, the path is a bit difficult so be careful.
  • Return to the homestay to relax, rest, soak in a hot and comfortable shower and enjoy local cuisine.

Evening: Enjoy dinner with the host family and experience the highland culture.

Day 17: Sung Village – Da Bia Village

After an early breakfast, you will start a five-hour trek (about 12 km). You will walk through lush corn and rice fields, pass by lakes and spectacular rocky mountains, you can stop to take pictures along the way of the stunning views of the mountains, valleys, and turquoise lakes.

  • Arrive at Da Bia Village, home to the Muong ethnic group. Here, you will enjoy a delicious lunch served by a Muong family that you will stay with.

Afternoon: You will be free to relax. You can also enjoy swimming or kayaking in Da Reservoir.

Evening: Enjoy dinner with your host family and spend the evening relaxing.

Overnight in Da Bia Village

Day 18: Da Bia Village – Thung Nai – Ninh Binh

Morning: After an early breakfast, you will leave Da Bia village and return to Da Lake, where you will board a private boat for your journey (approximately 1-1.5 hours) to Thung Nai port. From here, you will be picked up and driven through the lush countryside to Son Ha village in Ninh Binh province.

  • Upon arrival, you will embark on a rural cycling tour, amidst lush green fields and through narrow lanes, watching the locals at work.

Afternoon: After lunch, you will take a relaxing rowing boat ride along a small canal to visit Thien Ha cave, enjoying the natural scenery along the way. This is a newly discovered eco-tourism spot and is considered by visitors to be the most beautiful cave in Ninh Binh, offering countless photo opportunities.

  • You will be rowed for another 2.5 hours on a pristine waterway towards Thung Nang “Anh Duong Valley”, a pristine area surrounded by steep limestone cliffs and stunning rice fields, promising to bring you an unforgettable experience.
  • Arriving at Thung Nang, you will be picked up by a waiting driver and taken to Hoa Lu, the site of the ancient capital of Vietnam dating back to the 11th century. Eroded over millennia, the crumbling ruins have been almost absorbed by the spectacular landscape creating a mystical atmosphere that is sure to stimulate your imagination.
  • Upon arrival, visit the historical site at the two remaining temples of the Dinh and Le kings. Restored in the 17th century.
  • Leaving the temple, you will reach Hang Mua Mountain, where you can take a scenic walk with breathtaking views of the Ngo Dong River below, cutting through the towering mountains.
  • End of tour and transfer to your hotel in Ninh Binh to check in. The rest is free for you to relax.

Day 19: Ninh Binh – Cat Ba Island – Lan Ha Bay

Morning: After breakfast, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Hai Phong city, then take a ferry to Cai Ba Island.

  • Around noon, you will board a wooden boat and start your journey to Lan Ha Bay. Located to the south and east of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha’s approximately 300 karst islands and limestone outcrops are as beautiful as Ha Long Bay. What makes Lan Ha special is that the karst blocks are located close together, making it the most ideal place for kayaking and swimming.
  • Around noon, the boat will be dropped into the middle of the bay for lunch. Enjoy delicious Vietnamese cuisine with a stunning panoramic view.

Afternoon: Continue your journey to Ba Trai Dao beach through floating fish farms. Then, the boat will stop for you to kayak leisurely into the bay on the limestone mountains before swimming and sunbathing on the beach.

  • Return to the Junk boat and you will be guided by the chef to cook. Learn about local ingredients and how to prepare classic Vietnamese dishes.

Evening: As the sun sets, you will arrive at an anchorage. Take a swim from the boat if you wish.

  • After dinner, enjoy some more drinks on the top deck or have some fun squid fishing with the crew before retiring to your cabin.

Day 20: Lan Ha Bay – Further Discovery

Morning: Wake up early to watch the sunrise and have breakfast. Then, the boat will weigh anchor and head to Dua Beach and Vung Kiem Lam area. You can kayak and paddle around the lake to enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful place.

Afternoon: You will continue to Viet Hai Village. When you arrive at Viet Hai Wharf, you will have a close-up view of the pristine nature, you can cycle to enjoy the peaceful scenery of the coastal village.

  • Explore the village school and organic gardens, meet the locals. If you want to be more active, you can hike to the top of Hai Quan Mountain to enjoy the stunning view of the park and part of Ha Long Bay.
  • End the tour and return to the boat then sail to a hidden spot in Lan Ha for your second night.
  • Enjoy dinner. Then, experience squid fishing before resting in your cozy cabin.

Overnight on board in Lan Ha Bay

Day 21: Lan Ha Bay – Cat Ba Island – Hanoi

Morning: After breakfast, start your day with a cruise around the steep cliffs of Lan Ha Bay to Monkey Island, where the beautiful sandy beach is ideal for a stroll.

  • Return to the boat to check out. Then enjoy a set lunch as you sail back to shore.

Afternoon: Get off the boat at the pier, your private driver will take you back to Hanoi.

  • After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day relaxing. Stroll around town or visit Hoan Kiem Lake & Ngoc Son Temple, a short walk from your hotel. They are beautifully lit up at night.
