The Hang En Cave Adventure is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular cave experiences. Hang En is considered the world’s third-largest cave and is a must-see natural wonder. Its massive size, 300-million-year-old fossils, pristine jungle, and river crossings make it an unforgettable adventure.

This 2-day, 1-night tour includes camping inside Hang En Cave beside a lazy river, visits to Ban Doong Village, and exploration of Hang Lanh (“Cold Cave”). Featured in National Geographic, The New York Times, Lonely Planet, Daily Mail UK, Good Morning America, and the Hollywood film Pan (2015), Hang En is a natural and cultural highlight of Phong Nha.

The tour combines trekking, river crossings, jungle exploration, cave adventure, and overnight camping for physically active guests seeking a moderate but thrilling challenge.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Phong Nha – Ban Doong Village – Hang En

07:30 – 08:00 – Pick up from your hotel in Phong Nha and transfer to Oxalis Headquarters. Gear up, receive a safety briefing, and sign the release form.

10:00 – Start trekking into the jungle via a steep hill and rivers. Hike through primary forest to reach Ban Doong Village, an ethnic minority village, for tea and cultural experience.

12:30 – 13:00 – Picnic lunch near the river.

Continue trekking through rivers and jungle valleys toward Hang En Cave.

15:00 – Arrive at Hang En. Camp is set up on the cave’s beach by the porter team. Explore the cave, walk to the viewpoint above camp to see 300-million-year-old fossils, relax or swim in the natural pool, and enjoy a grilled dinner with rice wine under the sounds of swifts overhead.

Day 2: Hang En – Hang Lanh – Phong Nha

08:00 – Breakfast and pack belongings.

09:00 – Depart Hang En and trek 1 km along the riverside to Hang Lanh (“Cold Cave”).

10:00 – 12:00 – Explore Hang Lanh, a 4 km-long wet cave with cold rivers, magnificent formations, and rare fossils.

12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch with the group.

13:00 – 14:00 – Trek through the river valley and jungle paths back toward the trailhead.

14:00 – 16:00 – Final uphill trek to the pickup point.

16:30 – 17:30 – Return to your hotel in Phong Nha.
