Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi

Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, your car and tour guide will greet you with a welcome sign with your name on it and take you straight to your hotel in the Old Quarter.

  • After checking in, you will have time to relax and get used to the pace of life in Hanoi. Your tour guide will introduce you to the tour schedule.
  • Enjoy dinner at KOTO Restaurant in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Countryside Tour

In the morning, after breakfast, the car will take you out of the capital to visit and sightsee through the Red River Delta, you will arrive at the charming village of Hung Yen. You will arrive at Mr. An and Mrs. Mien’s house, where you can admire the three-hundred-year-old wooden house. You will enjoy a cup of green tea to visit and learn about the village, then experience cycling around the village and visit families doing traditional crafts. You will also stop at the local market, where you can interact with the locals, visit the shops and shop.

  • You can learn to cook some traditional Vietnamese dishes with Mrs. Mien, then enjoy the delicious meal you have prepared with your new family.

Afternoon: You return to Hanoi. On the way, you will stop at Bat Trang pottery village to learn about the 1000-year-old village with exquisite traditional works.

  • Returning to Hanoi in the late afternoon, you are free to relax and stroll around Hanoi Old Quarter.

Day 3: Hanoi – Transfer to Bac Ha

Morning: After breakfast and check out of the hotel, the car and tour guide will pick you up and take you to Bac Ha town for 6 hours. Deep in the mountains, Bac Ha is a quiet countryside from Monday to Saturday, but on Sundays, locals and tourists flock to the town to participate in the colorful Sunday market, you will have the opportunity to meet and exchange culture with the highlanders.

  • You will experience a boat trip on the Chay River, 6km upstream, you will have the opportunity to visit Tien Cave – associated with the legend of 3 fairies hiding there and visit Bao Nhai and Ta Trung Do villages with a sacred temple called Ba Co (Three girls).
  • At noon, the group will enjoy lunch with local specialties.

Afternoon: The car will take you to Bac Ha to check in at a local’s house. Clean bed sheets and new towels are standard, the mattress and pillows are very comfortable. Each bed has a mosquito net and curtains that you can pull back for extra privacy.

  • After a short rest and getting to know your host family, your guide and driver will take you to Ban Pho village, where you can walk around the village, home to the Hmong Hoa, Tay and Nung ethnic minorities…
  • Visit the Hmong King’s Palace. Completed in 1921, the Palace was the former home of a wealthy Tay landowner named Hoang Yen Chao. Supported by the French colonial government, the Hoang family owned much of the fertile land in the area and had a monopoly on trading almost everything.

Return to the homestay for some relaxation. Enjoy a nice hot shower and prepare for dinner with the family.

Day 4: Bac Ha Sunday Market – Transfer to Ha Giang

Morning: Get up early, your guide will take you to Bac Ha Sunday Market in time (to avoid the crowds) to explore the bustling market. The market is a kaleidoscope of colour, noise and culture, where locals sell and exchange goods. The aroma of fresh herbs and aromatic tobacco wafts between the tented stalls and the strong smell of animals from the live market above.

  • Leaving the Market, you start the journey to Ha Giang about 3 hours drive, Ha Giang has a beautiful landscape with limestone peaks and granite outcrops and has some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.

Afternoon: After lunch in Xin Man town, continue the journey to Ha Giang. Along the way, you will see terraced fields, waterfalls and many beautiful ethnic minorities.

  • Arrive in Ha Giang, check in at Truong Xuan Eco-lodge. Relax or explore a Tay village, located in a beautiful valley near town.

Day 5: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Ninh

Morning: After breakfast, you will depart from Ha Giang to Quan Ba ​​Valley to admire the natural beauty with green hills and many limestone caves. Pass Quan Ba ​​Pass – known as Heaven’s Gate with panoramic views of the terraced rice fields below.

Afternoon: After lunch at a local restaurant in Quan Ba, you will visit Lung Tam, where you will learn about the handicrafts of the H’Mong people. The female craftsmen will demonstrate the techniques of weaving hemp and other traditional crafts.

  • Then the car will take you to Yen Minh town to see the scenery. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Then you are free to relax

Day 6: Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van

Morning: After breakfast, you will leave Yen Ninh for Lung Cu. On the way, you will visit the local market if it is open, and admire the scenery of the corn fields or visit a small remote village where you can mingle with the Chinese community.

Afternoon: The car takes you to Dong Van town, a Geopark with many ancient limestone blocks, visit the former residence of the noble Vuong family, also known as “The Palace of the H’Mong King”. After that, check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 7: Dong Van – Meo Vac

Morning: After breakfast, you will start your hiking trip through the rocky mountains on a small road that leads you to villages surrounded by lush green forests where you can admire the scenery and return to Dong Van town for lunch.

Afternoon: You leave Dong Van and the car takes you through the majestic Ma Pi Leng Pass to Meo Vac town. Rest on the pass and admire the panoramic view of the poetic Nho Que River.

  • Arrive in Meo Vac town in the late afternoon, check in at Auberge de Meo Vac Mountain Lodge. Then relax.

Day 8: Meo Vac – Cao Bang

The journey takes you to Cao Bang, on the way you stop to admire the scenery and capture beautiful moments.

Day 9: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall

Morning: You wake up early and visit Ban Gioc Waterfall. The majestic waterfall is located on the border of China, the waterfall is 30 meters high and 300 meters wide, Ban Gioc is a large waterfall. Continue the journey to Nguom Ngao Cave. The large cave contains majestic, spectacular caves, filled with sophisticated stalactites and stalagmites.

Afternoon: After lunch at a local restaurant, you will return to Cao Bang, free to relax.

Day 10: Cao Bang – Ba Be Lake

Morning: You wake up early, the car takes you to visit Pac Bo Cave and admire the beautiful scenery with green rice fields and a place with a strong historical mark.

Afternoon: After lunch in Cao Bang, you will depart for Ba Be Lake. Crossing the same bumpy road but the scenery is enchanting.

  • In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Cho Ra Town, from here you will be taken to the National Park Center. In the evening, you will spend the night in a Tay village in a local house.

Day 11: Ba Be Lake Discovery – Hanoi

Morning: After breakfast, you will take a boat down the Nang River to explore Ba Be Lake, a large natural lake and the center of a large National Park, surrounded by limestone land, so there are many lakes, waterfalls, caves and interesting rock formations, and home to many ethnic minority communities.

  • After a two-hour boat trip and a visit to Dau Dang Waterfall, Puong Cave, you will return to the local house for lunch and check out.

Afternoon: You will go to Ba Be Lake, then get on the bus back to Hanoi. On the way, you will stop at the Museum of Ethnology in Thai Nguyen.

Evening: Arrive in Hanoi and check in to the hotel. Free to explore the last night in Hanoi before returning home.
